Wednesday is the start of the 12th Annual Lake Placid Film Festival featuring panels, a student film-making competition, and movies from around the globe. The festival, this year, is focused on the current issue of the “potential loss of independent theaters as digital film becomes increasingly popular,” so the festival is in part investigating the future and role of small theaters as we move forward in the world of cinema.
Girl Walk // All Day is thrilled to be part of this year’s festival as well, with a free screening tomorrow night at Bandshell Park on Main Street in downtown Lake Placid. The show will start at 9 p.m. and you’re encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs and bug spray! In the case of rain, the screening will move indoors to the Palace Theater.
