Girl Walk // All Day is thrilled to be part oft he 6th Annual Korean American Film Festival in New York, June 5-10, 2012. Featuring 9 features and 20 short films (including 6 premieres), the festival includes a wide range of films by both Korean and non-Korean filmmakers. 

Though most of the festival is hosted at the East Village’s Anthology Film Archives, we’ll have a special 3-projector screening of Girl Walk // All Day at White Box on the LES. There will be drinks avaialble for purchase thanks to drink sponsors Tito’s Vodka and Tiger Beer. Get ready to dance, get sweaty, have yourself a drink, and be surrounded by Girl Walk.

Girl Walk // All Day returns to Seattle tomorrow night for a double-header at the NW Film Forum in Capitol Hill. Housed in an intimate 48-seat theater, the film will play at 7 + 9 p.m. — but don’t feel inclined to stay in those seats. 

The Northwest Film Forum is THE independent art house of Seattle, showing over 200 independent and classic films on their screens every year. 

 The Film Forum’s programming embraces film production as well as film exhibition, with two cinemas, film production and post-production facilities and equipment, educational workshop space, filmmaker offices, a film vault containing over 1,000 titles and a filmmaking library in our space at 1515 12th Ave. 

Over 1100 members strong, the Film Forum aides 250 filmmakers in the production of nearly 80 films, and offers more than 60 workshops annually.

Though we couldn’t make it out to yesterday’s screening at the Free State Film Festival in Lawrence, Kansas, Jacob facetime’d in for a Q&A at the theater. Today, the awesome organizers sent over a picture of the director on the big screen.

We’re working on a super lineup of shows this summer, including an August 4th outdoor screening at MASS MoCA (Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art) with DJs King Roomie Rock + CDR from More & Co. and a live dance performance by John Doyle. 

Yesterday, Bershire On Stage announced MASS MoCA’s full summer lineup, and if you’re in the northeast, you should be sure to catch what’s going to be a fantastic few months of outdoor shows that tap the worlds of music-film-dance-installation and more. The lineup includes bands Real Estate, Patrick Watson and Wilco, the annual Bang on a Can Festival of Contemporary Music and David Byrne’s “unique theatrical experience,” Here Lies Love. 

The Girl Walk // All Day screening, sponsored by The Porches Inn, will light up the dance floor at 9:00 p.m. in Courtyard C. Tickets are available online ($15 advance, $19 day of, 10% discount for members).

Girl Walk’s spreading its wings and making way to Kansas this weekend for the first-ever Free State Film Festival in Lawrence, Kansas. The festival is a weekend-long series of feature-length films + shorts, panel discussions and an experimental film and music video showcase to top it all off. All screenings and activities are at the Lawrence Arts Center downtown. 

Since the screening falls on Sunday — Mother’s Day — all moms who come accompanied by a son or daughter, will get in for free. 

After the film, Jacob Krupnick will be on Skype for a Q + A with the audience.

If you’re in New York, our next screening at The Wild Project on May 6th will kick off with a one-time-only Flex performance by dancers from Street’s Finest. For those of you who aren’t familiar with Flex (we weren’t, before making Girl Walk), check out Diedre Schoo and Mike Nichols’ documentary-in-the-works, Flex is Kings, which will give you a taste for the set of movements and history behind this relatively new form of dance.  A handful of the members of Street’s Finest made an appearance in Chapter 11 of Girl Walk, carrying the spirit of dance through the streets of Chinatown.  Come out to the show, support Street’s Finest, and see Girl Walk on the big screen!

John Doyle (The Creep), Jacob Krupnick (Director) and Youngna Park (Producer) will be representing Girl Walk // All Day down in Mexico City this Sunday, April 22nd with a free screening at the Museo Universitario de Arte Contemporaneo at UNAM, the largest university in Latin America (300,000 students!), as part of Telmex Hub.

There will be a Q & A directly following the screening, and we plan to take the dance party all over campus and into the streets. Look for the three of us, and John’s giant old school Bose boom box bopping around town.

April 22nd: Mexico City Premiere at Museo Universitario de Arte Contemporaneo (MUAC). Director Jacob Krupnick, Producer Youngna Park and cast member John Doyle (The Creep) will be in attendance for a Q + A following the film. [FREE and open to the public]

April 27th: The XPN Music Film Festival hosts a screening + dance party at Philadelphia’s World Cafe Live. [Tickets + details]

May 3rd: Michigan Premiere at Cranbrook Art Museum. The screening is free with admission to the museum. [Details] 

May 6th: Screening at The Wild Project in the East Village (NYC) with a special dance performance by Flex group, Streets Finest (featured in Chapter 11 of the film). [Tickets + Details]

Due to popular demand, SXSW has added a fifth screening this Friday, March 16th at 9:30 p.m. in the Vimeo Theater! Come out for our grand finale and see Girl Walk on the BIG BIG screen!
